Staff members of Buranich Funeral Home, Inc. are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors.

Samuel Buranich Jr. President and Licensed Funeral Director

Sam is a 1966 graduate of SUNY Delhi where he received an associate’s degree in business marketing and a 1968 graduate of Parsons College where he received a bachelor of arts degree in business administration. Also a graduate of Simmons School of Mortuary Science, he is a member of the New York State Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association as well as the New York State Association of County Coroners and Medical Examiners. He was previously employed by GTE Sylvania for 15 years as a supervisor of office services. His civic involvement includes the Syracuse Men’s Garden Club and Greater Camillus Chamber of Commerce. He is also a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Camillus and St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church. Sam and his wife, Ann, have two children and four grandchildren.

A second-generation funeral director, Sam joined the family business as a licensed funeral director upon completion of his A.A.S degree in funeral service from SUNY Canton. He is a member of the New York State Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association, the Greater Camillus Chamber of Commerce and a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church. Sam enjoys spending time with his wife, Carla, and their two children.

Matthew Vincentini Licensed Funeral Director, Certified Preplanning Consultant, Certified Celebrant

Matthew is a graduate of Simmons Institute of Funeral Service where he received an A.O.S degree in Funeral Service Arts and Science and was the recipient of the Embalming, Business Management Disciplines and Mark B. Wightman Memorial Scholarship Awards. In 2016, Matthew graduated from SUNY Canton where he received a bachelor of technology degree in funeral service with highest honors and was the recipient of the Heritage and Spirit of Success Awards. Matthew is a current member of the Solvay Tigers A.C., the New York State Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association, as well as the Greater Camillus Chamber of Commerce and a former member of the Solvay Fire Department. He and his wife, Zhanna, have three children and are active members in the Word of Life Assembly of God in Baldwinsville.

Jason Ryder Licensed Funeral Director, Certified Preplanning Consultant, Certified Celebrant

Jason graduated with an A.A.S degree in funeral service from SUNY Canton. He is a member of the Greater Camillus Chamber of Commerce, the New York State Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association, as well as St. Michael’s Lutheran Church.

Vincent Lawyer Licensed Funeral Director, Certified Preplanning Consultant, Certified Celebrant

Vincent graduated with an A.O.S. in Funeral Service Arts and Science from Simmons Institute of Funeral Service. Born and raised in Rochester, he served in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne Division before moving to Syracuse. He is a member of the New York State Funeral Directors Association as well as the National Funeral Directors Association. In his free time, Vincent is an avid musician and artist.

Ann Buranich Office Assistant

Ann has assisted in serving the families of Camillus for over 40 years. A  former third-grade teacher in the Marcellus Central School District, she was a graduate of The College of Saint Rose in Albany and SUNY Cortland. Active in the community, she is a member of the Greater Camillus Chamber of Commerce and a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church where she is a member of  the Altar and Rosary Society. Ann and her husband, Sam, have two children and four grandchildren.

Kristine McGuire Office Assistant, Notary Public

Kristine attended Powelson Business Institute and has a background in business computers. Before joining the Buranich Funeral Home in 2005, she worked a number of years in the IT Department of the Syracuse Newspaper.  As an administrative assistant, she assists the directors and handles all office functions.  An active communicant of Holy Family Church, Kris and her husband, Dan, have three children and live in Fairmount.

Corinne Roberts Office Assistant, Notary Public

Corinne is a graduate of West Genesee High School and received her associate's degree in Criminal Justice from OCC in 2014. As an administrative assistant, her position allows her to work alongside the directors and handle all office functions. Corinne lives in Camillus and enjoys cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

Gino Lustrinelli Resident

Gino graduated from West Genesee High school in 2015. He’s currently attending Hudson Valley Community College where he will graduate in May 2017 and receive his A.A.S degree in mortuary science. Gino enjoys long walks on the beach, reading poetry by the fireside and spending time with family and friends.

Thomas Sexton Funeral Assistant

Tom is a graduate of Onondaga Community College and SUNY Canton. He retired as a lieutenant from the Syracuse Fire Department after serving 21 years. He currently serves as vice president of the Syracuse Retired Firefighters Association. He and his wife, Linda, have two children and a grandson and are active communicants of St. James church in Syracuse. Tom enjoys spending time with family and friends, baseball and sunsets on Lakeport Bay.

Kevin Alling Funeral Assistant

Kevin was born and raised in Ithaca and graduated from Ithaca Senior High School. He worked for Wilcox Press/Vanguard Printing for over 32 years before moving to the Syracuse area. He is currently employed by Cold Springs R&D and also works part-time at the funeral home. Kevin married his wife, Shannon, in 2009 and has three children and a granddaughter.

Mark A. Zoanetti Funeral Assistant

Mark graduated from Solvay High School and Onondaga Community College, and has A.A.S degrees in both Fire Protection Technology and Emergency Management.  An Air Force veteran, Mark retired after 30 years with the Syracuse Fire Department.  He was able to attain the rank of deputy chief of fire and his responsibility included chief of special operation and was also responsible as City-wide commander of emergencies that occurred within the city of Syracuse. Mark is a board of director for the Tyrol Club of Solvay and life member of the Solvay Fire Department. He and his wife, Marie, have two daughters and are active parishioners of St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church in Solvay.

Carla has been a licensed hairstylist since 2003 and started working at the Buranich Funeral Home in 2008. She currently works at Hair Studio 5. She is a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church. Carla enjoys spending her time with her husband Sam, and their two children.
