Barbara J. (Krupa) Borreggine

Barbara J. (Krupa) Borreggine, 75, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 31, 1942 in Syracuse, to Chester and Helen (Lebkowski) Krupa. Barbara was a graduate of St. Lucy’s Catholic Academy in Syracuse. She worked in the freight forwarding business with Nippon Express, Flying Tigers and retired in 2003 from FedEx as a customer service agent. Barbara had a spunky sense of humor and would tell it to you straight. She enjoyed spending time around the kitchen table and laughing with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If she wasn’t riding the Hoover or watching Young and the Restless you could find her with her best friend and partner in crime, Cathy Furner, causing a ruckus in Alexandria Bay or playing the slot machines at the casino.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Paul; sisters, Joanne Picciotto and Arlene Hayes; and brothers, Henry, Robert and Whitey Krupa.

Surviving are her beloved family; children, Tim (Kim) Hummell of Memphis, Suzanne (Kinney) Thurston of Syracuse and Michael (Margene) of Buxton, OR; sister, Karen (Burleigh) Chatfield; half-brother, Joseph Ponichtera; half-sisters, Kathy Leslie, Marianne Ricker and Janet Mulcare; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call Sunday, August 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, August 6 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
