Joan Theresa Osterhout

Joan Theresa Osterhout, 86, of Geddes, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Crouse Hospital. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, she was a graduate of St. Anthony's. Joan previously worked as a bookkeeper for A. Bryant Kreis Heating Co. An active communicant of Holy Family Church, Joan assisted in housekeeping and money collecting for over 30 years. She enjoyed eating lunch at the Senior Center with friends, outings at Coleman's and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter and great-grandson.

Joan was predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Osterhout; and son, Robert M. Osterhout.

Surviving are her daughter, Kathleen (Laurie) Osterhout of Holyoke, MA; son, David (Annie) Osterhout of Dunedin, FL; sisters, Elizabeth Escobedo of Scotsdale, AZ, Rosemary Nuss of California and Bev (Gene) Green of Cheyenne, WY; brother, Chuck (Audrey) Hurtibus of California; granddaughter, Meghan (Patrick Harris) Osterhout of Holyoke, MA; great-grandson, Gabriel; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank Steve and Johanna Wall for all of their love and support.

There will be no calling hours.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 3 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. A celebration of life luncheon will follow at Holy Family Church after the funeral Mass. Private burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joan’s name may be made to the Holy Family Food Pantry, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse, NY 13219.
