Allan N. Morey

Allan N. Morey, 92, a lifelong resident of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Iroquois Nursing Home. Born in Syracuse on Friday, September 21, 1917, he was the son of Charles Wallace Morey and Rosa Morey. A graduate of Central High School, Allan was a B-17 Army pilot during World II and served in the Western Europe and Northern France Campaigns. He retired in 1981 after 29 years with General Electric Co. His wife of 67 years, the former Betty Roberta Heindorf, died March 30, 2009. Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Bob Daino and Cheryl and David Gandino, all of Jamesville; grandchildren, Jill (Greg Krakower) Daino, Rob (Linh Nguyen) Daino, Jody (Todd) Lentz and Dave Gandino; great-grandchildren, Chloe and Luca Daino, Sofia and Evan Lentz and Zade Daino Krakower. A private service was held at Woodlawn Mausoleum with Msgr. Neal Quartier officiating. Arrangements were by the Buranich Funeral Home, Camillus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Guardian Angel Society, c/o Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 259 E. Onondaga St., Syracuse, NY 13202.
