Allison Munro

Allison Munro, 50, of Camillus, passed away Monday, October 26, 2009 at home after a long illness. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was born on Friday, February 6, 1959. She graduated from West Genesee High School and Bryant & Stratton College. Allison was an Air Force veteran. She was employed with Elmcrest Children’s Center. An avid runner, she also enjoyed swimming, tennis and spending time with her family. Allison was predeceased by her stepfather, Frederic Head. Surviving are her mother, Gloria Head of Fairmount; father and stepmother Richard and Karolan Munro of Camillus; sister and brother-in-law, Lauren and Alan Packer of Westwood, Massachusetts; brothers and sister-in-law, Steven and Linda of Morgantown, West Virginia and Scott of Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2009 in the chapel at Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Craig Schaub, from Plymouth Congregational Church, will be officiating. Relatives and friends may call Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Allison’s memory to a favorite charity.
