Anna Reidy Costie Feeney

Anna Reidy Costie Feeney, 89, formerly of Camillus, died Monday, May 19, 2008 in Fairview Ridges Hospital, Burnsville, Minnesota. Born in Canastota on Saturday, October 26, 1918, she was the daughter of William Costie and Margaret O'Kane Costie. She lived in Marcellus and Camillus for many years before moving recently to Minnesota. Anna graduated from Chittenango High School and Syracuse Secretarial School. A Navy veteran of World War II, she served with the WAVES. She married Eugene P. Feeney on September 7, 1944. Anna was employed by the VA Medical Center, retiring in 1980. A communicant of St. Joseph's Church, she was a member of the Golden Agers and the Catholic Women's Club. She formerly volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Maxwell Memorial Library. Anna was predeceased by her son, Joseph, in 1974, her husband, Eugene, in 1979, and her grandson, Joseph Jackson, in 1994. Surviving are her son, Michael Feeney of Greensboro, North Carolina; daughters, Mary Feeney (Nick Pittenger) of Prior Lake, Minnesota and Liz Feeney (Robert Jackson) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; devoted sister-in-law, Nancy Scheutzow of Camillus; four grandchildren; special niece, Julie Costie, and many other loving nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2008 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Thursday, May 22, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Contributions may be made to the Samaritan Center, 310 Montgomery St., Syracuse, NY 13202.
