Benita A. Kennedy, 63, of Westvale, died Sunday, October 15, 2006 at home. She was born in Syracuse on Sunday, February 21, 1943 and was the daughter of Joseph Pryzwara and Mary Zajac. She graduated from the Convent School in 1961 and LeMoyne College in 1965. Benita was a communicant of Holy Family Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother who was an avid gardener. Surviving are her husband of 41 years, James M. Kennedy, Sr.; mother, Mary Pryzwara of Westvale; daughters and son-in-law, Caroline K. and Martin Reff and Mary-Claire Kennedy, of Westvale; son, James M. Kennedy, Jr. and his fiance, Kimberly Kingston, of Syracuse; sisters, Nancy Bradley of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Suzanne Cerino of Westvale; grandchildren, Jack and Molly Reff of Westvale; and several beloved nieces and nephews. Services will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Tuesday, October 17, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Camillus. Contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Francis, Development Office, 2500 Grant Blvd., Syracuse, NY, 13208.
