Betty Stratton Roycraft

August 10, 1922 — June 8, 2005

Betty Stratton Roycraft, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday June 8, 2005 at home in the company of her family. Born in Rochester, she was the daughter of Elizabeth and Walter Stratton and the last survivor of the four Stratton children. To her family and friends, Betty was an inspiration and all that is good and kind, the best possible wife, mother, and friend. Memories of her love, courage and remarkable sense of humor will be cherished always. Betty was an avid gardener, pastry chef, cake decorator, seamstress and enjoyed traveling, including trips to visit relations in Ireland. This was the homeland of her beloved mother and Betty was always proud of her Irish heritage. She and her husband John, for many years, were active in local politics. Betty also was an active member of the local TOPS Club. Surviving are her husband John of 56 years; sons and daughters-in-law, Dave and Sue Bradley of Hannibal and Doug and Barbara Bradley of Skaneateles; daughter, Gerry Roycraft of East Syracuse; grandchildren, Chris, Pat, Jenn, Brett and Jesse Bradley; two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Services will be at 9:45 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2005 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Warners where a funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Brian Lang. Friends may call Sunday, June 12, 2005 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2005 in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester where she will be joining her parents, sister and brother-in-law in eternal rest.
