Brenda E. Howe

Brenda E. Howe, 74, of Camillus, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 at University Hospital.  Born in Everett, MA, she lived most of her life in Syracuse and was a 1958 graduate of Solvay High School.  She received her B.A. in Music from Syracuse University in 1962 and in 1967, her M.S. in Guidance. Brenda served a number of school systems in Syracuse and Onondaga County, first as a music teacher and choral conductor and then as a guidance counselor.  She retired in 1998 from her position as director of guidance at her alma mater, Solvay High School. Brenda was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and the NY State School Review Board. She had a great love for children and was an avid reader. Surviving are her cousin, Susan Caroselli of Mechanicsburg, PA; close friends, Peter (Mary) Klementowski, Rob (Robin) Neimeier and their children, Hannah, Max and Lucy, and Bob (Melanie) O'Donnell, all of Camillus; along with many other friends. There will be no calling hours. Services will be Friday, May 29 at 3 p.m. in St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 5402 W. Genesee St., Camillus.  Brenda will be laid to rest in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody, MA at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Golisano Children's Hospital, c/o University Hospital, 750 E. Adams St., Syracuse, NY 13210.
