Brian W. Baker, 47, of Fairmount, died October 20, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. Born on January 19, 1958, he was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area. He was a graduate of Bishop Ludden High School and SUNY Delhi. Brian was a manager for Eckerd Drugs for 19 years and a chef for Pensabene's Park West restaurant for nine years. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. Brian was an avid S.U. fan who loved sports. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He would always lend a helping hand or ear to anyone who needed a friend. Brian was a dedicated employee. He enjoyed spending his free time with his family and especially with his wife, Pam, and grandchild, Alissa. Brian's father, Philip, died in 1991. Surviving are his wife of 14 years, the former Pamela Pierce; daughters, Emily of Raleigh, North Carolina and Jennifer of Southern Pines, North Carolina; son, Philip of Jacksonville, North Carolina; mother, Mary Baker of Syracuse; brother, Martin (Jill) Baker of Elon, North Carolina; stepsons, Jamie (Deana) Drake of Camillus and Ryan Drake of Baldwinsville; stepdaughter, Nicole Drake of Syracuse; four grandchildren, Alissa who resides with Pam and Brian, Blaine, Cory and Kayla and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Monday, October 24, 2005 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St., P.O. Box 7, E. Syracuse, NY 13057.
