Cecelia (Banach) Racht

Cecelia (Banach) Racht, 94, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at The Centers at St. Camillus. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a graduate of Vocational High School. A communicant of St.Charles~St. Ann's Parish, she was active in their food pantry.

Cecelia was predeceased by her husband, Robert Racht; parents, Edward and Cecelia Banach; and sisters, Bertha Cosselman, Mary Yorker, Theresa Banach and Joan Dillon.

Surviving are her sister, Katherine Paige of Syracuse; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Cecelia's family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at St. Camillus who so lovingly cared for her.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday, January 8 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

Services will be Monday, January 9 at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home and 10 a.m. in St. Charles~St. Ann's Parish, 501 S. Orchard Rd., where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Cecelia will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Charles~St. Ann's Parish Food Pantry, 4461 Onondaga Blvd., Syracuse, NY 13219.
