Charles W. Snyder

Charles Snyder, 75, of Camillus, died Friday, February 1, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. Born in Syracuse on Wednesday, December 7, 1932, he was the son of Mary Margaret Keyes Snyder and Christopher Joseph Snyder. He lived in Camillus for over 50 years. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Charles was employed for 25 years with the Town of Camillus Highway Dept., retiring in 1995 and was formerly employed for 18 years by Gulino Construction. He was a member of the American-Italian Heritage Association, Syracuse Chapter, and communicant of St. Josephs Church. He liked hunting and fishing, dining out, taking long drives and spending time with his family and friends. Charles was predeceased by his wife, Vera, who died December 3, 1998 and his daughter, Mary, who died September 1, 1993. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph W. and Jeanine Snyder of Camillus; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Robert Tallini of Andover, Massachusetts; granddaughters, Donna Jones, Jessica Morin, Samantha, Maria and Sofia Snyder; grandson, Joey Snyder and great-grandchildren, Joshua Hitchcock, Hannah and Andrew Jones and Sadie Morin. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Monday, February 4, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus.
