Charlotte (Burt) Shanahan

Charlotte (Burt) Shanahan, 102, of Solvay, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Sunnyside Care Center. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, she was a graduate of North High School. Charlotte was employed with Addis Co. for over 20 years. She was a longtime communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church, enjoyed knitting and loved spending time with her family, friends and neighbors.

Charlotte was predeceased by her husband, William A. Shanahan; son, William J. Shanahan; grandsons, Robert and Patrick Shanahan; and great-granddaughter, Victoria Ness.

Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Martin of Syracuse; son, Robert Shanahan of East Syracuse; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, January 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, January 5 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 5600 West Genesee St., Camillus. Charlotte will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.
