Christine A. Coleates

Christine "Chrissy" A. Coleates, 39, of Camillus, passed away Monday,  January 18, 2016 at Francis House.  A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a 1994 graduate of West Genesee High School and a member of the color guard. Chrissy attended the Newhouse School at Syracuse University and OCC.  She was employed with Time Warner Cable and previously for Stern Advertising. Chrissy loved acting and singing, especially spending time at the Singers Karaoke Club.  She also enjoyed baking and being a second mom to her stepchildren, nieces and nephews. Jackson, her rescue cat, was her pride and joy. Surviving are her longtime companion, Joel Bennett of Camillus; parents, Harold "Hal" and Mary Coleates of Fairmount; sisters, Holly (Michael) Legnetto of Onondaga Hill, Jeanne (David) Steckel of Cicero, Mary (Joe) Esposito of North Carolina and Shelleen "Shelly" (John) Soltys of Camillus; brothers, John and Harold "Hal" (Wendy) Jr., both of Camillus; stepchildren, Megan and Jacob Bennett of Sandy Creek; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Friday, January 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 23 at 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Fairmount.  Christine will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Mausoleum, Warners.
