David A. Prieto

David A. Prieto, 73, of Onondaga Hill, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Francis House. Born and raised in the Buffalo area, he moved to Syracuse in 1988. David was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and SUNY College at Buffalo. An Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, he was employed in the insurance industry for 40 years, retiring from Liberty Mutual Co. David enjoyed watching sports and the news, keeping up with current events and working around the house, but above all, loved spending time with his family. He was a man of integrity and expressed his love in practical ways by helping others.

David was predeceased by his sisters, Joan Kososki and Donna Holmwood.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, the former Judith Mosman of Onondaga Hill; daughters, Michelle Prieto of Woodbridge, VA and Deborah (Christopher) Sheets of Baldwinsville; sons, Michael (Kambra Juve) of Hampton, VA and Matthew of Onondaga Hill; granddaughters, Eva and Maya; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Monday, February 20 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

Services will follow at noon at the funeral home. David will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
