Edmund J. Schilling

Edmund J. Schilling, 76, of Fairmount, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he graduated from Most Holy Rosary and attended Le Moyne College. Edmund was employed for over 25 years with Carrier Corp. and previously worked for Bellevue Dairy. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and enjoyed playing cards with his friends, traveling, boating and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Edmund was predeceased by his parents, Edmund and Catherine Schilling. Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Katherine of Fairmount; daughter, Sandra (Dan) Phillips of Fulton; sons, Edmund Jr. (Laura) of Liverpool and Michael (Lisa) of FL; sisters, Elizabeth (Timothy) Sheldon of Camillus and Mary (Evangelo) Harris of FL; brother, William (Linda) of Syracuse; five grandsons; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Friday, August 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, August 20 at 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Holy Family Church Food Pantry, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse, NY 13219.
