Edward T. Cleary, Jr.

November 23, 1929 — September 30, 2018

Edward T. Cleary Jr., 88, of Lakeland, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018 at home. Born in Washington, D.C., he moved to Lakeland in 1993. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and attended the University of Maryland and Syracuse University. Edward was employed with IBM for 31 years, retiring in 1987.

Edward was predeceased by his brothers, William and Jon; and grandson, Billy Wademan.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, the former Dorothy J. Donofrio Petta; children, Doreen (Ron) Doctor and Darlene (Matt) Wademan, both of Camillus, Debra (Russ) Canestrare, Denise (Jerry) Rikhoff, and Donna (Mike) Wall, all of Lakeland, Lynn (Joe) Anderson of Syracuse, Thomas Cleary and Diane Cleary; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, October 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

Services will be Thursday, October 4 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Ed will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
