Eileen Simone

Eileen G. Simone, 87, formerly of 911 Granger Rd., Fairmount, passed away Monday, December 12, 2011 at Crouse Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born in Syracuse on Monday, March 3, 1924, she was the daughter of Thomas Graser and Margaret Baker. She lived in Tipperary Hill before moving to Fairmount over 50 years ago and was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School. Eileen cherished her husband and children and devoted her life to being a loving wife and mother. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a long-time member of Tuscarora Golf Club. Eileen was predeceased by her sister, Mary Rugala; brothers, Rev. John L. Graser and Thomas Graser; and granddaughter, Amanda Rose Evans. Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Richard; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Frank Klimcsak of Somerset, New Jersey, Mary and Daniel Mathewson of Syracuse, Patricia and Marcel Franquelin of Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, and Barbara and Mark Evans of Hillsborough, New Jersey; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard V. Jr. and Patricia of Clay, Benjamin (Mary Hayes) of Liverpool, Thomas and Karen of Syracuse and John and Micky of East Syracuse; sister, Helen Gray; brother and sister-in-law, Theodore & Mary Graser; grandchildren, Richard Simone III, Daniel Simone, Desiree Cullen and Jessica Wingren, Jaimee Simone, Patrick Simone, Timothy Simone, Kimberly Klimcsak, Daniel and Erica Mathewson, Katlin Simone, Addison Simone, Bennett Simone, Kevin Weadock, Taylor, Jenna and Neil Evans, and Riley Simone; and eight great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, December 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, December 16 at 1 p.m. in Holy Family Church. Eileen will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
