Elizabeth Bartella

Elizabeth “Betty” Calcary Bartella, 94, of Solvay, passed away Monday, August 5, 2013 at Iroquois Nursing Home with her two children at her side. Born and raised in Austria, she moved to the Solvay-Fairmount area in the late 1920s. Betty was a 1943 graduate of Solvay High School. She was employed by Johns-Manville and retired from Allied Chemical Corp. after 45 years. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and enjoyed gardening, sewing and spending time with her two children. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Frank in 1999. Surviving are her daughter, Sherrie A. Bartella of Camillus; and son, Ronald C. Bartella of Syracuse. Services were private. Betty was laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
