Frank J. Sprague

Frank J. Sprague, 76, of Camillus, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Francis House after his courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family. Mr. Sprague was born in Syracuse, NY. He graduated from Central Tech High School and attended both Syracuse University and Hobart College. He was an Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. Frank also owned The Sprague Sales Agency for 36 years, retiring in 1997. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying for many years. He was an active member of both The Aircraft Owners & Pilot Association and Ye Anciente and Secret Order of Quiet Birdmen. His other passions included playing golf and billiards with both his family and friends. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Rita (Sheehan) Sprague; four sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Suzanne Sprague of Baldwinsville, Mark and Roxanne Sprague of Mattydale, Joseph and Erica Sprague of Castle Rock, Colorado and Craig and Judith Sprague of Camillus; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Jane Sprague and Robert Sprague, all of Liverpool; a sister, Eleanor Robb of California; and eight grandchildren, Jeremy, Brittany, Timothy, Christian, Aspen, Shannon, Samantha and Aaron. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2007 at St. Joseph's Church, Camillus. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
