Gerald T. Flanagan, 79, formerly of Camillus, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 in Leesburg, Florida. Born in Syracuse, he was the son of Bernard and Marie (Dair) Flanagan. He moved to The Plantation at Leesburg in January 2002 from Camillus with his wife, Linda. Jerry retired from Niagara Mohawk Power Corp after 41 years. Formerly a communicant, lector and Eucharistic minister at St. Joseph's Church in Camillus, he served in the National Guard and his favorite pastime was physical fitness. Jerry was predeceased by his sons, Jerry and Paul, and brother, Bernard. Surviving in addition to his wife Linda are his children, Thomas of Syracuse, Kristin of Jacksonville, FL, Ryan of Plainville, MA and Kevin of Penfield, NY; grandchildren, Rachel, Kaitlan, Colin, Riley, and Ellie; great-grandson, Brennan; brother, Richard of Syracuse; and sister, Sharon of Madison, WI. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1 in St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
