Hans T. Andersen

Hans T. Andersen, 64, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at University Hospital. Born in New York City on Friday, November 15, 1946, he lived in Skaneateles until moving to Camillus in 2005. Hans was a graduate of The Harvey School and Syracuse University. He was employed at the VA Medical Center for over 15 years and formerly at University Hospital. He was a member of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau and attended St. James Episcopal Church in Skaneateles. Hans enjoyed his electronic toys, reading, and traveling, especially taking cruises. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Hans was predeceased by his daughter, Kimberely Kocur; father, Thor Andersen; and his mother, Dorothy Enos Scofield. Surviving are his wife of 34 years, the former Jacqueline Evans; daughter and son-in-law, Lindsay and Anthony Casale of Waterford; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Laura Andersen of Fiskdale, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Scott and Kaitlyn Andersen, Timothy and Johnathan Kocur, and Krista Andersen; son-in-law, Paul Kocur of Auburn; sisters-in-law, Eleanor (Greg) Diehl of Skaneateles and Barbara Evans of Canastota; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Saturday, July 30 from 10 a.m. to noon at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will follow at noon with Rev. Toppie Bates officiating at the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Hans’ memory to CNY SPCA, 5878 E. Molloy Rd., Mattydale, NY 13211.
