Helen F. Grant

Helen F. Grant, 95, formerly of Fairmount Hills, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at her home at Forest View, East Fayette St. Syracuse, where she lived since 2009. Born in McDonough, she moved to Fairmount in 1956 and retired from Dey Bros., Fairmount in 1987. Helen was a longtime member of Fairmount Community Church United Church of Christ. She loved reading, gardening and especially baking. Helen was predeceased by her husband, John Howard Grant Jr., in 1978; brothers, Richard and Edgar Barnes; and daughter-in-law, Dr. Mary Ann Heindorf. Surviving are her daughter, Mary (Gary) Grant-Snyder of Reading, PA; sons, John Grant and fiancée, Bonnie Kensinger of Brighton, MI and Gerald (Marilyn) Boardman of Cheboygan, MI; grandchildren, Richard (Marcia) Boardman and Gerald (Jody) Boardman, both of Cheboygan, MI, and Grant and Virginia Snyder, both of Reading, PA; four great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be Wednesday, July 31 at 10 a.m. in Fairmount Community Church United Church of Christ.
