Helen Kachurak Karczewski

Helen Kachurak Karczewski, 87, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday February 27, 2013 at home. Born in Auburn on Saturday, April 25, 1925, she was the daughter of Mary and John Kachurak. She lived in Syracuse for 66 years. She was a communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Chester Karczewski, in 1988 and son, Michael Karczewski, in 2010. Surviving are her daughters, Cynthia Karczewski and Karen Karczewski, both of Syracuse; daughter-in-law, Deborah Karczewski of Marietta; and granddaughter, Anna Karczewski. Services were private. Helen was laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Buranich Funeral Home, Camillus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Ave., Syracuse, NY 13204 or to Hospice of Central New York, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
