Henrietta Kosecki

Henrietta "Zenka" Golas Kosecki, 87, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Menorah Park. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she retired from R.E. Dietz Co. Henrietta was a communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and enjoyed sewing and baking, especially Christmas cookies.

The family would like to thank all staff and administration at Park Terrace at Radisson and Menorah Park, especially the Terrace Unit for their care and compassion.

Henrietta was predeceased by her parents, John and Henrieta Golas; sisters, Lillian Franklyn and Irene; and brother, Gene Golas.

Surviving are her husband of 69 years, Joseph Kosecki Jr.; sons, James (Shelly) Kosecki of Lakeland and Joseph (Joanne) Kosecki of Constantia; daughter, JoAnn (Dennis) Gaworecki of Baldwinsville; sister, Theresa (Dick) Salbert of Minoa; brother, Thaddeus (Jane) Golas of California; sister-in-law, Ginny Golas of Florida; grandchildren, Sheri, Jamie, Danielle, Jonathon, Ryan, Cory and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Stacy, Christine, Jaidyn, Nathan, Ava, Cooper and Harrison; great-great-granddaughter, Alina; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, November 17 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Ave., Syracuse.

A funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at the church. Henrietta will be laid to rest in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
