I. Leean Hawkins

Leean Hawkins, 43, of Camillus passed away Sunday at University Hospital. Raised in DeFuniak Springs , FL., she was a graduate of DeFuniak High School and moved to the Camillus area in 2009. Leean was an English and Women's Studies   Professor at Onondaga Community College for six years and a past English teacher at National Park Community College in Arkansas. She was very proud of her work with the disabled, LGBT and Women's Communities. Leean was predeceased by her stepfather, Jim Pratt; and grandparents Horace and Cora Mitchem. Surviving are her husband of 23 years, Paul Hawkins; daughter, Ella Rhianna; father, Jody (Marie) Mitchem of DeFuniak Springs, FL; mother, Shirley Pratt; sister, Charla (Bob) Kaelin of Milton, FL; partner of five years, Laine Lubar; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services  will be private.
