Irene D. Stieber, 81, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Auburn Nursing Home. Born in Auburn on Monday, October 29, 1928, she was the daughter of Martin Durgala and Anna Matus Durgala. She lived in Camillus for 55 years. Irene retired in 1993 after 28 years with GTE Sylvania and was previously employed by Sears Roebuck and Co. for five years and Prudential Insurance Co. She was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Amos. Surviving are her son, Richard and daughter, Anne, both of Camillus; brother and sister-in-law, Milan and Paula Durgala of Auburn; a niece; two nephews; and five great-nieces. A memorial service will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 24 in St. Michael's Lutheran Church with Rev. Janet Fechner-Pelletier officiating. Relatives and friends may call Friday, April 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Irene’s name to St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 5108 W. Genesee St., Camillus, NY 13031.
