James Joseph Mara

James Joseph Mara, 75, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Tuesday after a two-year battle with cancer. He was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area and Army veteran of the Vietnam War. James was employed as a steel salesman for over 30 years. He was most recently employed as a steel buyer with Raulli & Sons before retiring in 2013.
James was predeceased by his parents, Mary and James; and sister, Marilyn “Maureen” Mirabito.
Surviving are his life partner of 33 years, Linda Frazier; sister, Maureen Mara; and several cousins.
There will be no services. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the CNY SPCA, 5878 E. Molloy Rd., Syracuse, NY 13211.
