Janet Richards Plants

Janet Richards Plants, 52, of Columbia, South Carolina, died Wednesday, February 9, 2005. Born in Syracuse on Thursday, September 4, 1952, she was the daughter of Robert M. Richards, Sr. and Sarah Jane McMahon. Janet was the devoted mother of Joseph and Jessica Plants, also of Columbia, South Carolina. She is also survived by her father, Robert M. Richards, Sr., of Camillus; brothers, Robert M. Richards, Jr. of No. Syracuse and Daniel F. Crough of Media, Pennsylvania; former husband, Kenneth Plants of Columbia, South Carolina; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Her mother, Sarah Jane Richards, died in 1972. Janet was a graduate of Morrisville State College and veteran of the U.S. Air Force. She was a dietician for the Richland County School District One in Columbia, South Carolina. Interests of Janet's included cooking and traveling. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2005 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus with Rev. Craig French officiating. Friends may call Wednesday, February 16, 2005 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
