Joan M. Procopio

Joan M. Procopio, 89, of Syracuse, passed away Monday, February 24, 2020 at Loretto. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, she attended SUNY Oswego and earned her master’s degree from SU. Joan was employed with the Syracuse City School District for over 35 years before retiring in 1991 and also ran Pro’s Produce Stand. She was a volunteer with the Brady Faith Center and member of the American Italian Cultural Society. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

Joan was predeceased by her husband, Louis, in 2013.

Surviving are her daughter, Ann (Carlos) Roman of Bethlehem, PA; sons, Mark (Michelle) of Horseheads, Thomas (Deborah) of Kirkville and Michael (Melanie Crisco) of Elmira; sister-in-law, Angela LaScola-Dambroso of DeWitt; many grandchildren and cousins.

There will be no calling hours.

A funeral service will be private. Joan will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
