John A. Quinn

John A. Quinn, 81, a lifetime resident of Syracuse, passed away peacefully Monday, November 16, 2009 at home. Born on Monday, July 16, 1928, he was the son of John Andrew Quinn Sr. and Johanna Emily Schmidt Quinn. An Army veteran, he was employed by Carrier Corp. for 29 years, retiring in 1988. Formerly an avid hunter and fisherman, John was also a member of the Tannery Tract Club. John was predeceased by his sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Kotyra, Kathryn Nichols and Charlotte Kaleta. Surviving are his sisters, Joanna Sarnacki of Baldwinsville and Mary Jane Aylesworth of Liverpool; and several nieces and nephews. At John’s request, there will be a private graveside service in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, Camillus.
