Joyce Ruth Murphy

Joyce Ruth Murphy, 83, of Marcellus, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020 at University Hospital, surrounded by her family. A lifetime resident of Marcellus, she was a 1954 graduate of Marcellus Central School. Joyce was a lifetime member of the Marcellus Fire Department Auxiliary and Marcellus Historical Society. She enjoyed bowling, knitting and playing cards.

Joyce was predeceased by her husband, James Murphy Sr., in 2004.

Surviving are her daughter, Jennifer (Timothy) Cebeniak of Marietta; son, James "Eddie" (Asia) Murphy of Marcellus; granddaughter, Samantha (David) Maxsween of Brewerton; grandson, Hunter Cebeniak of Marietta; great-granddaughter, Jazmine Maxsween; sister, Carolyn Terrill of Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday, March 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

Services will be Monday, March 2 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Joyce will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.
