Lawrence D. Robinson

Lawrence D. Robinson, 81, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. Born in Akron, Ohio on Wednesday, December 19, 1923, he was the son of Ivan Harold Robinson and Blanche Ethyl Newton. He lived in Camillus for 46 years. Larry served in the Navy, including submarine duty, during World War II. Pride runs deep. He was employed as vice president of DPC Corp. Active at St. Josephs Church, he was a daily communicant, Eucharistic minister, server and counter. He was past commander and treasurer of the American Legion, Knifetown Post 1540 as well as a member of the U.S. Submarine Veterans of WW II Association. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels, the VA Hospital and the local food pantry. Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Holligan Robinson; children, Kevin Robinson of Cicero, Susan Robinson Shockey of Syracuse, Deborah Coon of Marietta, Georgia, Mary Kay Ferguson of Cleveland Heights, Ohio and Sharon Robinson Farrell of So. Glens Falls; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Robert Robinson of Bastrop, Texas and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2005 at St. Joseph's Church, 5600 West Genesee St., Camillus where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Sunday, August 21, 2005 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Human Development Fund, St. Joseph's Church, 5600 W. Genesee Street, Camillus, NY 13031.
