Marie (Cvelic) Krell, 88 years young, of Syracuse, left this earthly planet for a better tomorrow on Thursday, June 10 2010. She was most recently a resident of Francis House. Born in New York City on Thursday, February 9, 1922, she was the daughter of John Cvelic and Antoinette Barbis Cvelic. Marie grew up in New Jersey and lived in Harpursville, New York before moving to Syracuse in 2002. She attended St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Hoboken, New Jersey and worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland as well as at Wilson Memorial and Binghamton General Hospitals, in Binghamton. Marie also spent many years as a private duty nurse. In recent years, she was a member of the Onondaga Klassy Red Hatters and proudly wore her purple and red to the fullest. Marie was predeceased by her husband, Robert B. Krell; and longtime companion, Hubert (Bill) Rhodes. Surviving are her son, Robert of Onondaga Hill; grandsons, Jesse and Dylan Cleary-Krell; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Saturday, June 26 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W.
