Marie S. Patterson

Marie S. Patterson, 68, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at home, surrounded by her loving family. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she graduated from Bishop Ludden, Niagara University and received her master's degree from Le Moyne College. Marie was employed by Solvay Union Free School before retiring in 2014 and previously worked as a registered nurse for Community General Hospital and Crouse Hospital for many years. She taught Lamaze classes through Community General Hospital and BOCES. A communicant of Holy Family Church, Marie also attended St. Joseph's Church. She enjoyed yoga, reading and spending time with her family. Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Peter; daughters, Erin Patterson of New Orleans, LA and Sara Patterson of Washington, DC; sisters, Elizabeth Sullivan of Brooklyn and Kathleen Buerman of Nedrow; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Monday, August 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be Tuesday, August 16 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Marie will be laid to rest in St. Agnes Cemetery, Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
