Marijane Lockwood

October 30, 1924 — April 28, 2014

Marijane Lockwood, 89, of Camillus, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. Born in Buffalo, she lived in the Syracuse area since 1940. Marijane was a graduate of New Hartford High School and former secretary for Stonehedge Elementary School in the West Genesee Central School District. She long enjoyed her card club made up of family and friends. She loved the outdoors and her gardening. Marijane, like her husband Gus, loved music, particularly jazz and loved listening to Gus’s bands over many years. She mostly enjoyed just being with family and friends and of course, the occasional manhattan. God bless you, Mom. Marijane was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Fremont "Gus" Lockwood in 2009; and sister, Marjorie Kelly in 1999. Surviving are her sons, Peter (Beverly) of Pflugerville, TX, Charles (June) of Marcellus and Richard (Jill) of Ballston Spa; brother, Richard "Dick" Hill of Connecticut; grandchildren, Travis (Jessica) Lockwood, Melinda (Scott) Millard, Scott (Becky) Lockwood, Abbie (Eric) Abbale and Carrie Lockwood; great-grandchildren, Evan, Ryan and Pierce; and nephews, Mark, Scott and Rick Hill. Graveside services for Marijane will be Saturday, May 10 at 10 a.m. in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
