Marilyn C. Schweitzer Fantauzzi, 71, of Camillus, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010 at her home in Hudson, Florida. Born in Syracuse on Thursday, March 2, 1939, she lived in Camillus for the past 38 years and wintered in Hudson, Florida. Marilyn was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church. Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Katherine Kies Schweitzer; sisters-in-law, Anne Nies and Thelma Schweitzer; and brother-in-law, Frank Catania. Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Thomas; daughters and son-in-law, Karen (Stephanie Duva) Fantauzzi of Holyoke, Massachusetts and Cynthia and Donald Southerland of Windermere, Florida; grandchildren, Devin, Gianna-Maria, Katheryn and Liam, all of Windemere, Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Jean Schweitzer of Pinellas Park, Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Robert Blake of Syracuse; twin sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Jonathan Simons of Ft. Myers, Florida; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Bonnie Catania of Syracuse and Jeanne and Joseph Tupper of Solvay; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, John Fantauzzi of Cape Coral, Florida, Joseph, George, and Francis Fantauzzi and Mervin and Eva Nies, all of Syracuse; many nieces and nephews; many good friends, especially George and Michelle Abdow and their children, all of Longmeadow, Massachusetts and Don Hale of New York Mills. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, September 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 8 in St. Michael’s Lutheran Church. Marilyn will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Tyler Kirby and his staff at West Coast Gynecologic Oncology in Clearwater, Florida. It was because of Dr. Kirby that Marilyn was able to enjoy the last three-plus years after she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
