Mary Dailey Barriere

Mary Dailey Barriere, 79, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Crouse Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Shaftsbury, Vermont on Sunday, August 24, 1930, she was the daughter of Joseph Michael Dailey and Rose Anna Callahan Dailey. She lived in Vermont until moving to Syracuse in 1961. Mary graduated from Bennington High School and attended nursing school in Syracuse. Retiring in 1995, she worked 20 years with St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church. Mary enjoyed knitting, crocheting and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Leo; brothers, Jack, Joseph and Robert Dailey; and her sister, Isabell Barber. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Shawn and David Barone of Batavia and Lyn and Charles Stevens of Camillus; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Sara Barriere of California and Daniel and Elizabeth Barriere of Camillus; sisters, Ann Garant of California and Rita Staszak of Scotia; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren with one on the way in June; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 3 in Holy Family Church. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the services. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, Camillus. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family Church Food Pantry, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse, NY 13219.
