Melva Jones, 96, of Fairmount, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at Iroquois Nursing Home. Born in Utica, she lived in Clark Mills and Allegany before moving to Fairmount. She was a graduate of Westmoreland High School. She was a former member of the Camillus Senior Citizens Society and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Melva was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 2009.
Surviving are her daughter, Patricia (Thomas) Metz of Camillus; son, Robert (Peggy) Jones of Fairmount; grandchildren, David Metz; Kristin (Kevin) Russell, Michele (Joseph) Murphy, and Michael (Patti) Jones; great-grandchildren, Gavin Russell, Cailin, Michael and Brian Murphy, Aaron and Lauren Jones; and two nieces.
Graveside services will be Friday, April 20 at 11 a.m. in Kirkland Cemetery, Kirkland.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Melva’s memory to one’s favorite charity.
