Nancy Nesbitt Strickland

Nancy Nesbitt Strickland, 77, of Camillus, passed away Friday, May 22, 2009. Born in Syracuse on Saturday, June 13, 1931, she was the daughter of William and Gladys Nesbitt. Nancy graduated from Vassar College and was proud of her employment with American Airlines and West Genesee School District. She was an accomplished equestrian in her youth and later enjoyed owning and racing thoroughbred race horses. As a student, Nancy played the harp and had a lifelong love of reading. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Wendell Strickland; sons and daughters-in-law, William and Karen Strickland of Manlius and Eric and Michele Strickland of Syracuse and Melbourne, Florida; and grandchildren, Brent, Tori, Brooke, Gavin and Hannah. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus, with Rev. Thomas Schafer officiating. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
