Olga Lott

January 11, 1916 — March 16, 2008

Blessed with a long life, Olga Tracz Lott, 92, of Germantown, Tennessee, formerly of Fairmount, joyfully returned to eternal peace on Sunday, March 16. Born in Syracuse on Tuesday, January 11, 1916, she was the daughter of Jacob Tracz and Catherine Wilkowicz Tracz. A 1932 graduate of Solvay High School, Olga worked for Camillus Cutlery during the Depression and World War II. In entrepreneurial partnership with her now deceased husband, John Lott, they built a successful hardware business. They co-owned Revere-Phoenix Manufacturing Company in Phoenix, NY as well as Newport Products in Warners, NY. She was a garden enthusiast and a talented amateur artist. An excellent cook, she inspired her grandson to become a classically trained chef. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church. Olga spent the last four years of her life living in Germantown, Tennessee, making new friends and traveling the world. She would often remark, I'm having the best time of my life! Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Thomas Doherty of Germantown, Tennessee and Linda and Kenneth Gerlach of Arlington, Virginia; grandsons, Brandon Doherty of Chicago, Illinois and Sean Doherty of McLean, Virginia; sisters, Dora DeVoe of New York Mills and Alice Malick of Fairmount; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 9 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church where a Divine Liturgy for the Deceased will be celebrated. Friends may call Tuesday, March 25, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Panakhyda service at 6 p.m. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. Contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.
