Patricia J. Nichols, 64, of Syracuse, died Saturday, February 3, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse. Born in Buffalo on Friday, March 27, 1942, she was the daughter of Alfred Giles Jennings and Elizabeth Muriel Bard. Pat was a longtime Syracuse resident. A 1963 graduate of Syracuse University School of Nursing, she was a school nurse at Webster Elementary School in Syracuse for 10 years and active with their mentor program. She was also a childcare provider for 20 years. Pat and her husband were ushers at the Civic Center for more than 20 years. She was a member of Bellevue Heights United Methodist Church. She had many good friends and thoroughly enjoyed her family. Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Benjamin J. Nichols; daughters, Elizabeth Newman of North Granby, Connecticut and Jessica Oehley of Trumbull, Connecticut; brothers, Richard Jennings of Worcester, New York and Douglas Jennings of Larue, Texas; grandchildren, Emily, Susan and Sarah Newman and Charlotte and Chase Oehley; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at Bellevue Heights United Methodist Church. Friends may call Tuesday, February 6, 2007 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus, New York.
