Penny O'Dell

Penny O’Dell, 83, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 in the presence of her children. She was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area and a parishioner at Holy Family Church. A graduate of Le Moyne College, Penny received her master’s degree from Oswego State and taught elementary school. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, tennis and spending time with family.
Penny was predeceased by her husband, Verne, in 2005.
Surviving are her children, Peter (Mindy) O’Dell of Fairport and Susan (Rob Webber) O’Dell of Concord, MA; grandchildren, Rachel O’Dell of Manhattan, Brian O’Dell of Fairport, Emily Barga of Colorado Springs, CO and Alex Barga of Concord, MA; siblings, Eugenia Walczyk of Brewerton, Frank (Lou) Bulawa of Cleveland and Mary Ann (Robert) Ranalli of Naples, FL; and 15 nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. Penny will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (nationalmssociety.org/Donate, 855-372-1331)
