Robert E. Pirong

Robert E. Pirong, 77, of Solvay, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012 at home. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was born on Friday, October 26, 1934 and was the son of John Francis Pirong and Ann Rose Gleason Pirong. He was a graduate of Solvay High School. Bob was employed by the Onondaga County Clerk's. He was a member of the Secular Franciscan Order. Surviving are his sister and brother-in-law, Rose Mary and Charles Cronin of Camillus; brother and sister-in-law, John and Mary Janet Pirong of Fairmount; several nieces and nephews; and good friend, Peter (Dayna) McShane of Geddes. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 13 at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, Camillus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.
