Robert F. Corcoran, 75, of Onondaga Hill, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Community General Hospital. Born in Syracuse on Friday, November 23, 1934, he was the son of Thomas J. Corcoran and Virginia Weis Corcoran. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was co-owner of Peerless Press in Syracuse for 41 years. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and member of the American Legion Valley Post #1468. He was an avid collector of fire fighting memorabilia. Robert was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Corcoran; and sisters, Mary Moffett and Eileen McGee. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Sally Cunningham; daughters, Sharon (Louis) Trivison of Camillus, Maureen (Al Antkowiak) Cunningham of Harleysville, Pennsylvania and Jennifer (David) Frisina of Syracuse; sons, Shane (Renee) Corcoran of Syracuse, Dennis (Tracy) Corcoran of Camillus and Patrick (Kathy) Corcoran of Syracuse; 13 grandsons; two granddaughters; sisters. Sister Thomas Marie Corcoran and Virginia Sexton; brothers, Edward, Paul, J. Arthur, William and Raymond Corcoran; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 11:30 a.m. in Most Holy Rosary Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Monday, December 28, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Robert will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.
