Shirley W. Jaton

Shirley W. Jaton, 83, of Memphis, died Monday, August 18, 2008 at home. Born in Syracuse on Sunday, July 26, 1925, she was the daughter of Henry George Stevens and Bertha Marie Gladding. She was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area. Shirley enjoyed cooking, baking pies, traveling and spending time with her family. Shirley's husband, Willis Eli Jaton, died November 19, 1993. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Charles Fingerhut of Jordan; son, Timothy Jaton of Memphis; grandchildren, Joshua (Lauren) Fingerhut of Weehawken, New Jersey and Ashley Jaton of Memphis; sister, Beverly O'Connor of North Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no services. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 West Genesee St., Camillus. Contributions may be made to the Jordan Ambulance, 1 Hamilton St., Jordan, NY 13080.
