Stephen H. Hoefer Sr.

Stephen H. Hoefer Sr., 90, son of Henry and Ellen (Enright) Hoefer, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018. Born and raised in NYC, Steve served in the US Navy and graduated with a degree in accounting from St. John’s University. He worked in NYC for several years as a public accountant and auditor and married Mary Kudlick of Syracuse in 1951. Steve and Mary moved to Syracuse to start their family and he worked as a comptroller and assistant plant manager for Allied Chemical.

Steve was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary, in 2001; and sister, Mary Mitacek.

Surviving are his children, James (Kathleen) of Onondaga Hill, Stephen Jr. (Mary Karpinski) of Manlius, Ellen Hoefer Predmore of Fayetteville, Judith Hoefer of Seminole, FL and Joseph (Barbara) of Charlotte, NC; and grandchildren, Sarah Hoefer of Charlotte, NC, Andrew (Carrie) Hoefer of Fort Wayne, IN, Nora Hoefer of NYC, Daniel and Stephen Predmore of Fayetteville and Michael and Katie Hoefer of Charlotte, NC.

Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, July 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 25 at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church. Steve will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
