Stephen J. Gersbacher

Stephen J. Gersbacher, 54, of Liverpool, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Crouse Hospital, surrounded by his family. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Westhill High School. Stephen earned his bachelor's degree from The College at Brockport and was employed with Airgas for over 28 years. An avid outdoorsman, he loved snowmobiling, hiking and traveling, especially out west. Stephen also enjoyed spending time with family.

Stephen was predeceased by his mother, Carole, in 2016; and father, Daniel, in 1999.

Surviving are his sisters, Mary Jo (Jim) Beamish and Susan Kanavy, both of Syracuse; brother, David (Maria) of Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Crouse Hospital 4 South and Stephen’s close friends for their loving care and compassion.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, August 18 at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 216 N. Lowell Ave., Syracuse. Burial will be private.
