Susan J. Rake

Susan J. Rake, 91, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2021 at The Centers at St. Camillus. She was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area and enjoyed spending summers with her family at Hinckley Reservoir. Susan was heavily involved with Cooperative Extension as a master gardener. She enjoyed tending to her many flowers and plants inside and out of her home. Susan was a member of the Legion of Mary group at St. Joseph’s Church. She loved spending time with her family, reading, being a part of multiple Bridge clubs, and knitting socks and afghans.

Susan was predeceased by her husband, Donald, in 2020; and parents, Edward and Hilda Smith.

Surviving are her daughter, Tracy (Tim) Loveland; sons, Gary (Kathy) Rake, James (Noreen) Rake and Stephen (Mary) Rake; grandchildren, Timothy (Suzanne), Sarah (Matt) Britton, Rebecca (Dan) Redmond, Kelley (Jon) Galeotti, and Megan and Kara Loveland; and great-grandchildren, Joseph, Nicholas, James, Emma and Grace.

Services and burial will be private.
