Terry David Loftus

February 22, 1939 — August 9, 2013

Terry David Loftus, 74, of the Village of Camillus, passed away Friday, August 9, 2013 at James Square Health & Rehabilitation Centre. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Hoosac High School in Hoosick, NY and Cornell University. Terry was a coast guard veteran. Director of operations for the City of Syracuse for more than 30 years, he was chairman of the board for Open House and a member of Friends of Bills. He was also a former communicant of Holy Family Church. An avid sports fan, his interests included golfing, boating and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife of 22 years, the former Frances "Leni" Kay(Gaffney); son, Jason Loftus; stepdaughter, Cathe (Jim) Jackson of Elbridge; stepson, Ty Seeber of Weedsport; and step grandsons, Peter and Seth Seeber. Relatives and friends may call Monday, August 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 13 in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family Food Pantry, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse, NY 13219.
